DataBox has the following default directory structure on installation:
\Program Files\SimpleWebFX\DataBox
This is the default Installation directory but could have been modified during Installation time. All application programs, help files and example background Files are held here.
By default, any DataBox created database will be held here, ".db" for the database and ".cfg" for its associated configuration file.
Program Files\SimpleWebFX\DataBox\Publish
When publishing your database, DataBox will place all generated HTML files in your nominated Publish directory. By default, this will be a directory named "Publish" under the installation directory.
You may nominate a different Publish directory per database (and it does not have to be named "Publish"). Remember, you should have a different Publish directory per database if you need to publish multiple databases before uploading them. The initial part of the publishing process removes all files starting "sfx" from the Publish directory.
Program Files\SimpleWebFX\DataBox\Publish\Upload
Program Files\SimpleWebFX\DataBox\Publish\AtSite
When 'Publish' is selected for the first time, 2 sub-directories will be created under your nominated Publish directory for your current database. These are named "Upload" and "AtSite". DataBox uses these directories to determine which HTML files need to be uploaded to your site since the last successful upload.
The first time you Publish your database, DataBox will determine that no files exist in your AtSite directory and therefore all Published files will be copied into the Upload directory ready for Upload.
Once an Upload to your site has completed without error, DataBox will copy the contents of your Publish directory to the AtSite directory, effectively mirroring the contents of your site.
The next time you select "Publish", DataBox will use the AtSite directory to compare with your newly published files, determining which files are new or modified and should be uploaded and which files now need to be removed from your site.
In this way DataBox maintains your Web Site to exactly match your published database, where old files are removed and only new & modified files are uploaded.
